Major labels exploit artists...FACT
It's been no surprise to learn that major labels have been exploiting artists with a string of high profile examples including Amy Winehouse and Bobby Shmurda being systematically ripped off by major label players. What is common place in all cases is the way the labels take profit away from artists under the guise of 'expenses' and fail to support artists through difficult periods in their lives. Bobby Shmurda was effectively cut off by his label after being landed with various charges. He is now in prison and his label has effectively cut him off completely.
Something has simply got to change to ensure that the music eco-system works effectively and benefits everyone. It would appear that many artists (like Adele, Wiley etc) have seen the way major labels treat artists and have decided to opt for independent labels. GOOD CHOICE.
