Upgraded Google Play Music Has A Robot DJ Now to Choose Tracks According to your Moods!

in #music7 years ago

You already have an idea as to the amount of information Google has about you. In fact Google may actually know more about you than anyone else! The ads we see are based on what we have been doing online and apps like Google now are so accurate sometimes, it is scary!

And now, Google has taken it a step further, with the up-gradation of their Play Music, which will recommend and play music based on your mood, your location, or even if you are driving your car!

The Google Play App

The Google play app has been around for sometime, but the latest iteration in its existence has included an Artificial Intelligence algorithm, which has a user interface based on machine learning, to play the music which is relevant to your mood, location and other situational factors while you go through your day.

In a recent blog post Google said,

“When you opt in, we’ll deliver personalized music based on where you are and why you are listening — relaxing at home, powering through at work, commuting, flying, exploring new cities, heading out on the town, and everything in between. Your workout music is front and center as you walk into the gym, a sunset soundtrack appears just as the sky goes pink, and tunes for focusing turn up at the library.”

Almost like a smart Radio Station, the app will now tap into the Google data machine, which besides looking into your library collection, will also track and remember your search history, you-tube plays, email and calendar and play the track which should suit your mood.

Besides this, the AI algorithm will also identify your location, what you are doing at that time and suggest/play a track which should be fitting for your circumstances.

And it will also cater to those situations when your may not have an internet connection, or a poor one, by creating an offline playlist based on the tracks you listen to frequently, and it should be appropriate listening for you.

Google also said the following in the same blog post:

“The new Google Play Music has a brand new home screen built just for you. Think of it as the ultimate personal DJ—one who listens not only to what you like but also when you like it, so the music that you care about now is always at the top of your screen.”

The new features announced are to be released this week in all the countries supported.

So welcome to a new era of music, where now robotic DJ's will choose and play music for you depending on many factors, like mood location etc., all because "big brother" Google knows your tastes better than you!
