How To: 3 Ways To Earn More And Get More Plays on Musicoin

Pfew, so after reading that last article of mine your account is now verified and you have uploaded your first song. Hoorah!

Shockingly, however, no one has listened to it at all. Unfortunately that is an issue that many of us have faced, including me! I have spent the last two months figuring out the best ways to get some traction on this platform. Today I will share three of those ways with you and no they won’t be “post good content and you will be recognized” because let's face it that doesn’t work.

Actively participating in the community

The biggest weaknesses of Musicoin is that it currently does not have the strongest music discovery mechanism. This means that you can not expect your music to be found if you don’t have any plays or tips. Generally a good way for people to find you is for you to find other people. The natural curiosity of humans means that a comment from an unknown person will never be left untouched. People simply want to figure out who left that comment. This means that a click to go to your profile is almost guaranteed which could, and luckily often does, result in those wanted plays!
A good way to do this is to search for your genre in the search bar. The reason you pick this is because these people are most likely to be interested in your genre of music. Now try to select songs with a lot of plays or tips that aren’t massive (I suggest trying to stay below 400 tips). Start by commenting on these songs (please also listen to them genuinely) and then hop from song to song by clicking on the names of people who have already commented. Be kind, constructive and leave a tip every now and then!

Joining facebook groups

Musicoin currently has two big facebook groups lead by the same people. They are to be found here and here. These groups are not just a great way to post your music in but also a great way to socialize and to find musicians alike. There is one group in which you can post your music but it is obviously not a one way street. So make sure to listen to some new music and to reply and comment on those. The other one will keep you updated on new happenings on the network of which I will document one in the next paragraph. The beauty of it all is that all of the musicians on this page are engaged musicians. Also, there is a lot of experience here and that information could soon be yours!

AtomCollectorRecords

You might have heard of @atomcollector already as he has been active on Steemit himself. The man has created quite the fuss on Musicoin by creating www.atomcollectorrecords.com. Being registered on this site allows you to put your songs into a playlist. This helps because numerous people use these playlists and therefore your songs gets those desired plays.
