Pocket Full Of Shells

It's rather interesting to take a look back from time to time to see how you have grown and changed over the years, this was definitely very illuminating.

When I was much younger I found Rage Against The Machine, and the music resonated resonated with my rebellious younger self, and this was probably because of the very anti-authority, don't tell me what to do vibe. Theit message has always been very political, but that was never the really a big factor when I was listening to it, and no I never got the Che Guevara t-shit.

Looking back at what exactly they were all about, and still are politically, is almost the polar opposite of what I believe and what I stand for. Yes they are against the corrupt US military and power and they do advocate for anarchism, but they all are very much communists. Which at the end of the day is in my opinion a far worse power, and still holds the record along with socialism for the highest body count in recent history. Then there's the absolute idolization of Che Guevara, basically they have said he is like a fifth band member, a guy who murdered people based on their race and sexual orientation.

Regardless of they political ideology, it was still and will be great music and memories.

Lyrics - Bulls On Parade

Come With It Now!

The microphone explodes, shattering the molds
Either drop the hits like de la O or get the fuck off tha commode
With tha sure shot, sure ta make the bodies drop
Drop an don't copy yo, don't call this a co-op
Terror rains drenchin', quenchin' tha thirst
Of tha power dons - that five sided Fist-a-gon
The rotten sore on tha face of Mother Earth gets bigger
The triggers cold empty your purse

Rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells
They rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells

Weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk tha corner to tha rubble, that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now!
What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin'
They don't gotta burn tha books, they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally round tha family, pocket full of shells

Rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells
They rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells

Bulls on parade! Uh...
Come With It Now!
Bulls on parade!

Che at least had the good graces to ride through Central America on beater Norton in the 50s. Rage Against the Machine didn't have that for me.

I have some serious anarchist friends. While they are utterly convinced I just don't think anarchy can work on any scale at all. Like under 1000 tops.

Thanks for the music, Mork. I didn't mind the song at all, but they won't make my playlist anytime soon.
