Current Jams 06: Recommended Music
It’s been a weird week across the board. Crypto has been bleeding out, Spring has been trying to punch through only to be met by a wall of snow, and global tensions are mounting up. Now’s a time to push that aside, get your headphones on and listen to some music.
It’d be great the hear some recommendations from you guys too.
I Woke Up And The Storm Was Over - Tropic Of Cancer
Starting slow and melancholic for this week’s selections with the cinematic, minimalistic ode to distress. One to play when you just want to shut yourself away in a darkened room and contemplate life.

Mountain Side - Beardyman
After contemplation ends, you can open the curtains and the windows, let in the fresh air and light and drench yourself in the optimism of Mountain Side by Beardman.

The Weight Of My Words (Four Tet Remix) - Kings Of Convenience
Going back to 2008, this drum beat driven remix of Kings Of Convenience sways a lot from the acoustic original, but offers something different but still taps into the chilled vibe.

Float - Lycoriscoris
Adding a bit of energy with this next track, Float opens with what sounds like orchestrated wind chimes, and then layers on beats and reverbed electronics to create a track that feels like it would work as a soundtrack to a time-lapse cityscape.

Bliss - Tensnake
I can’t finish a music selection without some sort of 80s inspired Synthwave track: and this is it. Complete with synths, bells and all the relevant gubbins, the 80s inspired genre train keeps on chugging away, full steam ahead.
