Ghostown - The Specials. By @martinsandersuk and @sebastien.cavrot
Hi, this is what happens when a bluesman and gypsy jazz player jam out some Ska beats on The Specials' classic, "Ghostown".
This was recorded just before @sebastien.cavrot left to head back to his home city of Paris after spending nearly a year on a working visit here in Nottingham. We first met in 2012 in Loas on our travels and we then just kept hooking up to jam and have fun whenever we could as we were heading for the same area, the islands off the coast of Cambodia.
Apologies for the low lighting, it almost gets away with being atmospheric.
We gigged in Mojo guesthouse and bar in Luang Prabang, Laos, Don Det, 4000 islands, Laos, and again in a cool blues bar, that I can't for the life of me remember the name of, in Phnom Penn, Cambodia. Great times, and we've kept in touch ever since. This being his second visit to hook up in Nottingham since we met, it's my turn to get my arse into gear and visit Seb in Paris next time.
We had so much fun jamming this one a few weeks back but I couldn't fit it into the @openmic at the time as we'd recorded something else the same week which we'd already posted.
