The Music of 60's and the music now. Things have changed.
The kids of 50's-80's would believe that the music then and now are no longer the same. We still remember those greatest musicians.
Be it the Beatles, The rolling Stones or Elvis Presley, The Doors and many more. They were something unique. Something we all miss in today's songs. The songs then had the emotions, the feeling, their own life they put in the rhythm. I can still hear the songs of the Beatles and i can do that all day long and still not be bored of it.
They made music to express themselves. We hardly see this in today's music. Back then you'd not have music videos and the only source of listening to them was either on the radio or their live Concerts. Everyone would ask you, "Did you hear the song?" But today it goes "Did you see that video?" Today no one listens to the song but only watch the song.
Back then, their music told a story. Today i don't know what it is. I see the musicians make Music Videos that are absolutely vulgar. Do you need to show some naked women's or get naked in the music video to sell your music?
I see most of that in Pitbull or Enrique's songs. Seriously! if the song is soo good, it will sell without any sick show.
Even the female singers go naked to sell them? Why, is it necessary? May be if you know the song is bullshit.
That's not music.
In the 60's and so.. the music sold easily, people heard them and adored them.
The only Musician of today that is Unique is Ed Sheeran. I hear all his music, But never watched his Music Video's. His songs tell you a story. Be it Shape of you, Castle on the hill, Perfect, Photograph, Nancy Mulligan and all the other songs of his, they all have some story to tell. Nancy Mulligan was about his Grandma which is worth listening. He has also written for many of his peers.
What i feel is that the Beatles will never be forgotten. They will be remembered for more 200's
I am not an expert of music. But the feeling is no longer the same.
If you feel what i think is rubbish, feel free to comment.
I can't write a long story, but short and simple is always better.

yeah me too.. :)
I won't call your opinion rubbish, but you need to broaden the range of music on your playlist. 😄Groups like Fleet Foxes, Hozier, First Aid Kit and others in the singer songwriter, neo folk genre are putting out music with thoughtful lyrics and great harmonies. I'm an old guy so don't think I didn't grow up with great music like CSNY, Steely Dan, and other great groups from the 70s and 80s. Look hard enough and you'll find some good stuff. I do share your opinion of Ed Sheeran. I saw him in concert and he is a great musician and performer.
well, i didn't mention all the music or the artists. But i only wanted to point out some things. And yes! you have grown up with those great songs.
The music back then besides telling a story had a better sound. Basic drums guitars and not all the electronics made the vocals stand out. Yet when the singers took a few seconds to play a rift it was still enjoyable. The music industry changed and only a certain type of sound makes it to the airways now a day. When you purchased a Beatles album all the songs where good. Most landing in the top 40's. Today a singer only has 1-2 hit songs and the rest of the tracks will never make it to the charts. They lack quality. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who all made music that had longevity. Now a days after a 6 month run the music fades in to the shadows and most careers end. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=beatles+songs+on+youtube&qpvt=beatles+songs+on+youtube&view=detail&mid=4E792E547745CF7411994E792E547745CF741199&FORM=VRDGAR Here is just one song that sounds good today as it probably did back in the day.
You are right..
