Reina del Cid – “Harvest Moon”

“Harvest Moon” (2019 – original from 1992)

This is a pared-down but fine version of Neil Young’s 1994 classic “Harvest Moon.”  The (mostly) acoustic music blends perfectly with the bucolic outdoor setting. And the kids and pets frolicking in the background only add to the pleasant atmosphere.  

Nature and Love

The natural setting is ideal for this song, which Matthew Greenwald praised for its expression of "the power of nature”  and its celebration of “lifetime love.”

Reina del Cid

Reina del Cid is the stage name of the US singer / songwriter Rachelle Cordova, as well as the name of her band.  

The Queen and Her Warrior

The Spanish word “Reina”  means “Queen.”  Cordova has nicknamed her guitar “El Cid,”  after a medieval Castilian warrior who was nicknamed thus by the Moors.    

Reina del Cid has released 3 albums, and will soon release their 4th.    

With the goal of remaining independent, the band has also released numerous videos on YouTube, of either their own songs or cover versions of notable folk and folk-rock songs. They continue to attract a large following on the platform.  _{(Image source)}
