No Woman, No Cry by: Bob Marley (A Cover by LYXNG) ^___^
Hello everyone! Here's my karaoke version of a reggae classic. Bob Marley had always been one of my favorites. I'm including the lyrics so you can sing along. I hope you guys like it! :D Chill!
NO WOMAN, NO CRY
by: Bob Marley
No woman, no cry,
No woman, no cry,
No woman, no cry,
No woman, no cry.
Said, said, said I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown,
Oba, oba serving the hypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet.
Good friends we have, oh
Good friends we've lost along the way
In this great future, you can't forget your past,
So dry your tears, I say
No woman, no cry,
No woman, no cry,
Here, little darlin', don't shed no tears,
No woman, no cry.
Said, said, said, I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown.
And then Georgie would make a firelight,
As it was logwood burnin' through the night
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which I'll share with you,
My feet is my only carriage,
So I've got to push on through.
While I'm gone, I mean
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
Everything is gonna be all right!
So, no woman, no cry,
No, no woman,
No woman, no cry.
Oh little sister, don't shed no tears,
No woman, no cry.
I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown.
And then Georgie would make a firelight,
As it was logwood burnin' through the night
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which I'll share with you,
My feet is my only carriage,
So I've got to push on through.
While I'm gone
No woman, no cry,
No, no woman,
No woman, no cry.
Oh little darling, don't shed no tears,
No woman, no cry.
Here little darling, don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry
Here little sister, don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry.

Love. Love. Love.
no woman no cry, right.
:)
The happiest performance of a song that always makes me sad. This was my late father's favorite song. He completely misunderstood its meaning though. His interpretation was that without a woman to break a man's heart, there was no cause for a man to cry. We also played this song at his funeral. So now this song always makes me think of him.
I also used this very song in the story I am working on. The hardest chapter Ive ever written. Normally I don't get emotional while writing, but this chapter, damn! Still my best performing post on Steemit ever, so maybe emotional is good in a way.
just read the chapter. and really hits a note. i love how you associate real emotions with your work. thanks for being such a gem.
Great work. Wonderful voice. Thanks a lot. Greetings
