CCR Guitar Lesson! "Fortunate Son" + Blues Lead Theory (minor pentatonic scales) Cont.

in #music8 years ago (edited)

Hey guys! Back with another guitar lesson today, this time teaching you how to play Creedence Clearwater Revival's killer jam "Fortunate Son."

We will also continue our study of basic theory for guitar, moving on to the 4th minor pentatonic position (blues scales/lead scales). After you nail this one, only one pentatonic pattern to go! Way to go! Here are all five patterns with today's circled in red:

Without further ado, on to the lesson. Have fun! Feel free to post questions or suggestions in the comments!

I've been stuck in a rut for awhile with my playing. Just noticed this post and I look forward to going through your lessons.

Patterns! Patterns! Patterns! So important..

After completing the five pentatonic scales outlined above is there any chance you could do some lessons on sliding patterns?

Hey, @mynameisbrian, thanks for your comment! I plan on talking about and teaching sliding patterns for sure. Great to hear that you found my videos! I hope you find them fun and useful.
