Howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas!

Last month I did a post about a Texas girl, here, who is a rising star on the rap scene. Her name is Megan Thee Stallion.

Well, actually her real name is Megan Pete so you can see why she wanted a more unique stage name. Not that there's anything wrong with the name Pete, but not attention grabbing.

Anyway, she didn't get invited to perform on the main stage at the MTM VMA(video music awards) a few days ago but she DID get invited to perform on the stage of the pre-awards show outside the building.

It's still a big deal for such a new artist. And she was also invited to introduce another performer on the main stage later that night.

She's skyrocketing to the top

To say she's a sensation is probably an understatement. That's why some are saying it was an H-Town Takeover(she's from Houston). People went nuts for her and she also won the VMA for best Power Anthem for her hit Hot Girl Summer.

For the VMA show she didn't perform that song which I thought was interesting, instead she performed her earlier hit called Big Ole Freak. lol..

One thing that sets her apart is that she's trying to make a big fashion statement as well as a music one. Here she's wearing a fake diamond studded outfit and you can't tell by this photo but they said she sparkled, shined and lit up the place with that.

For this segment she wore a Louis Vuitton "suit" with vintage patches sewed on.

When Megan first got started she was super unique because many times she dressed as a sort of cowgirl, even rode horses at some events.

Well, she's still super unique but I think she might be getting away from the cowgirl imaging. Either way she's catapulting to the stars and next year she'll be on the main stage at the VMA's.

I think. I know nothing about rap music and can't ever understand a word they say but I think it's fun to watch a Texas girl go from nothing to super stardom in such a short time. Plus she's so smart in her marketing of herself.

I know she's creating a fashion empire as she rises. By the time she hits the top of her genre her name on a clothing line will sell like hot cakes. She probably already has designers working on her line.

She's either a brilliant entrepreneur, or has one running things behind the scenes.

Now we just need her to do a hit song and video about Steem. Have a bunch of Steemians twerking. lol.
