Whew. What a party. New Years Eve was absolutely wild. A 24 hour party whose full details are best kept off of social media and quite frankly, made me feel pretty old. I don’t know how some people go 24 hours of pure partying in a huge house with a private lake in the middle of nowhere. Seriously, things were surreal. I only snagged on picture of the vintage cars parked under the dance floor, last night was crazy and I had a blast.
Out of all the tunes from that night that were highlights, the evening of blistering EBM and Techno gave way to some pretty special moments for me in the morning. The early morning sunrise beauty of Vril’s Torus XXXII and Boards Of Canada’s Kid For Today. The short shift to the still relevant This Is America by Childish Gambino in the middle of a throbbing techno set was a rare juxtaposition that surprisingly worked with the final drum beats looping into an effective techno baseline.
But by far, my favorite moment was hearing this stone cold classic from my teenager days played on a big system for the first time. Armand’s remix is genre defining, giving Garage one of its first big hits and inspiring a whole generational producers. It was energizing and as the early morning ravers singing every word flowed back to the dance floor, truly encapsulated the fresh 2019 sense of unity.

We kept trying to get people to do it, but we did take the small paddle boat out there. Pretty beautiful at that point in the morning.
hahaha, cool! I spend my morning inside Berghain, no morning lights other then the grey we could see from time to time when in the second room 'Panoramabar' when they opened the window shutters :)
