Most of those albums have at least one jew in a key role - if not in the band, at least the manager or record company owner.

"Today would be Joe Strummer’s 57 birthday. Born John Graham Mellor, he was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, mostly for his work as frontman of the Clash. He died suddenly in 2002 of an undiagnosed heart defect. He was also part Jewish.

Strummer formed the Clash in 1976, the same year the Ramones broke out and the Sex Pistols began their short-lived run. In 1977 the Clash released their first album, a classic that blended punk with reggae - a sound that countless bands would imitate but never master like the Clash. Their 1979 record “London Calling” is one of the most critically acclaimed rock albums of all time and opened the possibilities of punk music to more than three-chord, three-minute songs.
