After a frustrating day in Krakow and a beautiful experience in Žilina, we continued towards Trenčin. A city that’s famous by its festival Pohoda.

Slovakia, Trenčin

We actually played it a couple years ago with our former band. It was an amazing experience, hanging around and watching bands like Eagles of Death Metal, Einstürzende Neubauten, Björk, Antwoord, and so on… It was one of the biggest festivals we played, and it was awesome.

Anyways, we were traveling for some time, and arrived at the club pretty early. The sound-guy was pretty cool, also called Mišo – like me (my nickname), and we saw that the club was pretty serious. It’s settled in a sort of a cultural center and it’s called Lúč.
The stage was pretty nice – black-box setting, and the equipment was really great, and the lighting also was nice. Pretty good for recording and taking photos. Our @marinauzelac was pretty happy :).

There weren’t so many people on the gig. But we didn’t mind so much, since we felt that those people really listened to what we were doing.
The sound was awesome – Mišo really did his best. The light was great, and the whole atmosphere was adequate. The club is perfect for that type of gigs.
After the show we had some drinks and ate.
We were amazed by the food. Some really cool risotto with chickpeas in some great gravy.
We asked for the recipe – and they just showed us that it’s an instant meal you can buy in Slovakia :D hahah. I guess, we’re really low-maintenance and easy to please. ;)

Hungary, Budapest

The next day we were leaving Slovakia, and going towards Hungary where we were going to meet with our friend Tamaš who has a really special place in our lives, and who really helped us in organizing the gigs.
He’s an amazing guy who played in an awesome band called “Umreti fit”.
We played a bunch of shows with them and became really good friends in the meantime. Ever time we come to Hungary – Tamaš makes us feel like home.
We even had a song named by his hometown on our last LP (with our former band) called Szeged.

Coming to Budapest, we had a first day-off.
We used it for sleeping, and took some time and hanged around the city.
Budapest is beautiful, with really nice historic bulevards, and it’s really nice to take some time and just browse around the city.
Even tho’ we were really in the zone with playing (having 8 consequential concerts) it was nice just to chill a bit and walk around the town.
Unfortunately I somehow managed to remove my tooth that was bugging me for a long time; and actually realized that the only two teeth that have ever bugged me I've removed both of them by hand :D. Pretty hard-core ;)

Anyways, we came to the club (Aurora), and met with some of our friends. We finally felt like closer to our home.
There were four bands playing with us – mostly some punk iterations – and the shows were great.

We played last, and it was really nice, especially the aftermath of the show.

Hungary, Szeged

The next day we left Budapest and went to Szeged.
As I said, it’s a city that has a really special place in our lives.
We had amazing shows there with our last band.

There’s even a clip of our whole show.

We arrived to the club and already felt like home – it's always nice coming to a familiar place.
We had a great soundcheck and just chilled around Szeged for a while.

We played with an amazing Hungarian band called Meszecsinka . They play a fusion of folk and ethno with modern sounds. The guys from the band are amazing players, really skillful and sensible, and the vocalist is out of this world.
They range in intensity from really soft and melancholic melodies to hard growling thundering noisy parts where you have a general feeling of exorcism going on.
It was an interesting blend of the two of us, and it ended pretty great.
An awesome night :)

Croatia, Osijek

Next stop was the last city of our tour – Osijek. It's situated in our country (Croatia) and it was strange speaking our native tongue after 10 days.
The guys that hosted the show are a really promising young band called Harvo Jay.
I would say that they are probably one of the best band in the newer generation.
We played in the old part of the city (Tvrđa) in a space they took over that was used for hand-crafted sculptures and furniture made out of hay.

They organize almost weekly concerts with bands from the region, and they usually play as a support.
It was our last concert, and it was really good. There were a lot of young and nice people on the show.
Their hospitality was amazing, and they really eased the feeling of the end of the tour.

Overall, this tour was intense but really nice. It had a great rhythm and it was dynamic, and even tho we had some downs (like those bitches not paying us in Krakow), our morale stayed high, and we kept it together :).

It's great traveling light with people you love and hang with. And even tho' it's usually tiresome and intense, changing cities and countries every day – it's amazing meeting new people, and seeing the similarities and differences between cultures in a short period of time. Also it's one of the best ways to tighten up your band, and really make it play the best it can.

Anyways, our next tour is in a couple of days – this time it's a short one (6 days) and we're covering Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria – and I'll be sure to write about it more :).
