The goal of the Steemit Music League is to create an avenue for real, positive change for Steemians with dreams in the music industry.

The Steemit Music League aims to provide long-term recognition, feedback, and rewards for Steemians with the ultimate goal of creating synergy among its members so that they can help each other achieve their dreams.

The winner of the Steemit Music League Season One will get a 7-day paid (lodging at the Palms Place and travel) to Las Vegas.

The winner is determined by the amount of points earned through League contests and challenges.

Currently, the Steemit Music League includes the Beat Battle League and the Steemit Music League Challenge.

The Beat Battle League is in Week Eight and is a weekly #beatbattle challenge that the music producers of Steemit can produce an entry based off an universal theme or sampled material for that week.

The Steemit Music League Challenge is an open music contest for rappers, MCs, singers, vocalists, and producers. Basically if you have a passion for music you can submit an entry every week.

Each week's theme changes with some nice remix weeks coming up soon. The prize pool is 50 SBD, Whaleshares, POINTZ, and other cryptocurrencies such as SMOKE.

The #smlchallenge is in Week Three currently with the theme being spirituality this week.

Remember on October 2, 2017 the top three (3) Steemians in the Beat Battle League and Steemit Music Challenge standings will have the option to redeem their points for POINTZ, the cryptocurrency currently in its pre-launch phase.

If they elect to do so then their score in the leaderboard is reset to 0 and then they can begin the climb back up the standings until Season One of the Beat Battle League concludes on January 2, 2018.

For example, if say on October 2 @verbal-d has 420 points through his participation in the Beat Battle League and #smlchallenge earning him a top three spot.

He has the option to redeem those 420 points for 420 POINTZ and receive them via the Bitshares Network. POINTZ initial value will be 1 point for 1 BTS.

That's right the leaderboard not only gives you a chance to win the trip to Las Vegas, it gives you the chance to earn a cross-platform cryptocurrency of value.

It is just another way we are doing our part to build this Steemit community to its full potential.

October 2 is coming up fast :)

Here are the updated standings of the Steemit Music League as of today with the winner being annouced on January 2, 2018 winning a paid trip to Las Vegas.

@verbal-d, the "Mayor of Steemit," leads the Steemit Music League at the moment leading @seveaux from the Netherlands by 28 points. As you can see his participation in both the Beat Battle League and the #smlchallenge helped his cause in the bid to win a free trip to Vegas.

The Steemit Music League is a community built by the community for the community with the goal of providing the most feedback, recognition, and rewards and possible all while bringing Steemians together.

So feel free to reach out to me on Discord if you sponsor and/or host a community challenge or contest and want to be part of the Steemit Music League and have your points funnel into the League championship.
