Makers Place.
I've been a long-time admirer of Barbara Orenya's @barbara-orenya's highly imaginative mixed-media artwork with her brightly coloured, eclectic and whimsical characters. So that when I first saw the cheerfully designed banner for her Makers Place website, I immediately became curious about Makers Place
After joining the Makers Place Discord Community, requesting an invitation to join Makers Place and being accepted, I was then able to set up my own MakersPlace store.
Distinguishing Features of Makers Place.
For Creatives.
- Using blockchain technology, a creator can protect the copyright of their digital artwork.
- Only a limited number of authentic editions can ever be owned, ensuring scarcity and uniqueness of a digital creation.

My first sale at Makers Place.
AND on 8/8 I sold my first Limited Edition Digital Artwork at MakersPlace: 'Be open to Sacred Space.'
As you can imagine this really meant a lot to me: As an affirmation that it IS possible for an artist to start to generate an income by sharing their work at MakersPlace.

Another significant event that also took place on 8/8 was the release of the single track: Earth Beneath My Feet.
Earth Beneath My Feet was created by Australian singer/songwriter, Sylvia Forest with Pete Dawes on cello and co-created with sound artist Stewart Havill.
The primordial like sounds with a contemporary pulse and interweaving 'whispers of the earth' will really urge your spirit to want to connect to the earth. The message is so very positive and truly uplifting.
This song is about the need to reconnect with the natural world, at a time when it is easy to become less and less connected, with so many of our relationships existing only in cyberspace. We are beings of the earth and we need to ground ourselves in order to be renewed. ~Sylvia Forest.About the image.
Sylvia took the photograph of her feet as she was just about to step into a huge puddle. It was raining and the earth/mud beneath our feet as we walked along one of our favourite trails in Lindfield was jet black and very squelchy.
I've slightly stylized the image with the Deep Dream Generator.

Just recently there have been a lot of new additions to the site so that more people are engaging there about their work. Which is perhaps stimulating more people to look at the work of others. You don't have to be working with digitized imagery as in Photoshop, to set up a Makers Place Gallery. Although many people there are working with some rather interesting imagery software.
Just adding a photographic image, technically speaking digitizes the limited editions of it ie images become available to Collectors as digital images. It's a wonderful platform for creatives to share their work on and I'd encourage you to have a look at it. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Just one sale been such an affirmation for me that it IS possible to attract online buyers to my work @plantstoplanks.
I hope you've had some mud producing rain and have been able to feel the squelch of it between your toes. We haven't has serious rain for so long and winter has just about gone ~ All the early spring signs are here. Magnolias and irise and the first of the blossoms and freesias. Beautiful, but really dry again, so I'm hoping it will rain here as well. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Being able to sell the occasional image online at Makers Place would be VERY empowering for this 'poor' artist. Although sales aren't my primary focus, it would sure help towards 'the rent and bills.'
The song is also about the connection we have to our Creator when we connect to the beauty and physicality of the earth.
A lot of Sylvia's songwriting is about connecting and reconnecting. Connecting to people and nature and reconnecting during those time when we might not be in the space/place we'd like to be in. Like being in the middle of the city and calling out to feel the connection we can still have with our Creator, no matter where we are. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Inner peace is what it's all about my friend.
During our many years of moving around from shoddy places to other shoddy places we accepted our lot and didn't allow it to disturb our peace.
The connection to our Creator comes from Him, as it's called Free grace and we would have fared terribly badly if the connection were to come from us.
Nothing can stand in the way of the connection.

It sure was @foxyspirit. I've had some of my photographic images in my gallery at Makers Place for 5 months now. I love the concept but have felt that it would take a while for 'collectors' to resonate with the concept and actually pay for acquiring a collection of digital images. So what made this sale all the more amazing is that it was TOTALLY unexpected.
My thinking about Makers Place has been through quite a shift as a result. Artists offer their work for sale through credit card or Ether. Time for me to learn a little more about Ether now too.♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
