ADSactly Music Initiative #20

Welcome back to our music edition of the Adsactly blog, just a sweet and short update from our side. There's been a nice slow but steady rise in the Steem price and we hope it stays on this gradual growth. We've been trying to get back into a better swing of things and feel a little behind the times, because we see more and more musicians getting on the Choon train, and we would like to know what the experience so far has been like, good or bad and what improvements could be implemented.

We would also like to again ask anyone to please drop some links of your own music or anyone else in the comments below, if you come across a great tune, be cool and share, or come post it in our ADSactly discord server in the music_initiative channel. Our aim with this initiative is to help support music orientated content from across the Steem blockchain, focusing on original content.

"The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils; The motions of his spirit are dull as night, And his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted. Mark the music." - William Shakespeare

Music Iniciative Elememnts.jpg

Introduction

We got together and decided we wanted to do something in the music space, as there are so many budding, talented musicians on the Steemit platform. We noticed that, although there were a lot of people posting, it felt like some of the contributors could use a little helping hand. I mean, who wouldn't want a little helping hand, right?
So where could WE add value? We could use our own in-house production people to help develop music for fellow Steemians looking for that little extra audio assistance.

We'll be running an initiative where Steemians can post their links below, and if the criteria are met (please read the criteria), we'll dig in with them and help mix their track, or add some instruments that they feel are missing from their song, or some little production techniques. If there isn't actually a post that our producer can work with, we might even just decide to give one of the entrants a bit of upvote love.

As time goes by and we put together enough collaborated content, we will then upload this content to digital stores (iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, etc.) and release a compilation album.

The other avenue where we would like to add value is to sync the music to commercials to try and develop some additional passive income for the artists.
Where will this go?
....Only time will tell!

How does it work?

  • Comment below with your Steemit post, DSound link or Soundcloud link (or another platform that you would prefer to use). Must be within 7 days of this post.
  • Upvote this post
  • Join the ADSactly Discord Community
  • Please try make sure you have independent audio files that we could actually work with in production
  • @ADSactly picks a winner (Please check back in the comments for this)
  • The winner receives a consultation over discord to discuss the direction moving forward on the track.
  • Our in-house producer does the work, sends it back to the winner, and they upload it to DSound with a guaranteed upvote from @ADSactly
  • We'll report back with the results in the following post so you, our followers, can keep track.

Disclaimer: Sometimes it might the case that out of all the entries, there isn't a post that can be worked with effectively; whether its due to a winner not getting back to us, or there being insufficient or inferior audio separates to work with. In this case we'll pick a song or track to show some love to.

Our Previous Winner

We’ve decided to give some upvote love to @alexworld for his awesome re-imagined remix of the Terminator soundtrack. If you remember this film from back in the day, you will remember the nostalgic soundtrack that came along with the film, and that very iconic sound of Terminator, which I personally will forever assosiate with the series. I recall having nightmares as a kid about the scary robot that just keeps on coming, with that very specific music always playing in the background. Alex is very versatile in his music production, and he is well worth checking out if you have not done so already.

Epic! This piece makes me feel like a robot. It's one of the best soundtracks in the musical history of cinema and this version of @alexworld is great. Even the sound mix feels more futuristic than the original. As always, happy that there are projects like this one that promote music and new talents on this platform. As a friend used to say: at the end of the day, there's only music left! And as Terminator used to say: Hasta la vista, baby. ;)

Thanks for mentioning me, i am very happy to share:))

Although I was never a follower of films like Therminator, I was a follower of productions where electronic music had an important role (for example, that of Vangelis, as in Blade Runner), and I can appreciate very good musical work in what was done by @alexworld. Thanks for sharing, @RoseDabone and @MorkRock.

Let me get my excuses out of the way. I have not recorded my own live drumming with friends yet (I'm new to steemit) but that is part of my plan. At this point I recorded some live drums at a recital performance and I put on a piece from a performance I produced 20 years ago. Could any of these two types of post be considered an entry?

Last weeks recording.

Heya, thx again for this wonderful opportunity @morkrock & @rossdabone!!

I just release a few collaborations, was a tough one to decide which one to drop here!!

I am going with "Alien Abduction" the collaboration with my dear friend & co-host of "Spotlight On The Artist" ( @spotlight.artist ), Zig ( @onemedia ).
I am so fascinated with the outcome I have to share this superb weirdness.

The turn out is so amazing because we come from completely diff places as musicians.
Zig being the rad jazz, psychedelic experimentalist that plays several instruments, me being the electronic, tech/ gear-head with a DJ background, we complemented each other so spot on with bringing in our personal specialties, I love it!!!!!

I wish you an outstanding start into this new week & hope you enjoy "Alien Abduction" <3 <3 <3
