The MILITANT Church

Join me, Chris, this afternoon at 3 PM Central for a new transmission of God Waves.

After taking an involuntary break from the show last week, we will start a new adventure today, still relating to spiritual warfare.

In this series, we are focsing on the church, not on the enemy. We focus on our own army and take a look at our church, at ourselves.

What do think of when you hear or read the word church?

A building perhaps? The church is not a builidng. Churches, as we are seeing them today were a wordly invention concucted by the state after 300 A.D.

But as Acts tells us, the church are people meeting in their houses, not just going to a church building some Sundays.

Acts 5:42 (KJV)
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

What picture do you think of when you hear the word Christian man?

A peaceful, docile, softy with no spine, easily pushed around?

This attitude is taught from many puplits in established churches today, but let me be clear: A Chrisian man is not a softy or spineless and submissive man child. He stands up to the world and to religion. Look at Jesus: He cracked the whip at the money changers in the temple. He did not bow to political correctness. He challenged the world, and the reliious status quo day in day out.

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

Let Us Use Our Defenses

The Armor of God:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Don't be caugt off-guard by the enemy. Equip yourself. Be pepared.
