The whole idea of a bible 'translation' is already a complete deception by itself.
Theres no such thing as bible translations.

Greek, but even moreso Hebrew, does not lend itself well for 'translation'.

It doesnt matter what 'translation' you use,you will always be missing something.Things will always get lost in translation,no matter what translation you use.The Kings James is certainly no exception to this.

The best way to study the bible is to just let go of the whole idea of a 'perfect' translation, while suggesting all others are misleading.
If this is what one believes, then one is already deceived.

At best, you have an 'interpretation' as opposed to a 'translation'.
The best way to study your bible is to try to dig into the Greek and Hebrew.
And these days you can do exactly that without any knowledge of either languages.

All you need to know and figure out is how to browse a website, and how to click a Strongs-number.

For those seriously interested in biblestudy, heres a true lifesaver:

I would agree that the Hebrew in particular requires additional dimensions of translation due to it's root and number meanings.
Greek is a very precise language, and also difficult to translate, as a single word may in many cases only be accurately conveyed in many words or sentences.
Historical and cultural backgrounds are also part of the translation and often ignored, thus giving a skewed context.

There is a difference between a good translation that has its problems (KJV) and purposefully corrupted versions that seek to deceive (NIV, NKJV, ESV, etc). One is still a double edged sword, the others, merely butter knives meant to disarm Christians.

The best linguistic study tools are blueletterbible.org (free) and logos.com (paid).

Indeed, the best way to study God's word is to use native language scripture, using Strongs, etc.
