Friday, 24 August 2018 was Episode 3 for THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTIST, another great show, with a bit of an awkward silence at the beginning for our audience on Discord, the MSPWaves simulcast Re-broadcast here on Viewly

SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTIST Episode 3

Vandal aka @vandigital presented HipHopTheBlockchain and his tune called, Rap Crypto. First he spoke of his regular gig as a DJ/MC and how he uses his raps to fill-in between tunes while reaching out to the audience. Then you went into detail on how he and a producer from a hour south of Kuala Lumpur made the Rap Crypto track released in September, 2017 and how it documented his journey into blockchain and cryptocurrency. He describes how between using Steemit as the blockchain-based platform and the music to educate the audience, how the collaborations and Hip Hop recording projects especially flourish in the Steemit environment. He encouraged the audience to look into Hip Hop The BlockChain.

Pennsif ( @pennsif ) presented a number of his initiatives he's started on Steemit and MSPWaves Radio, including, "My Life In 8 Songs" on which we highly encourage Spotlight On The Artist guests to make an appearance, as it goes into depth in one hour per each musical guest featuring eight of the guest's recent tunes and related interviews. We also spoke briefly of his other MSP Waves Radio show, The Alternative Lifestyle Show. In the last part of the interview we spoke intensively about Pennsif's A Dollar A Day Charity and how that brings benefit to those in need throughout the world, and how we're looking to build cooperation between A Dollar A Day and @d-vine 's A GAIA INTERVENTION, the main conduit through which Spotlight On The Artist practices community stewardship in the form of charity.

Priscilla Hernandez ( @yidneth ) spoke to us about her entry into the I-talent Round 9, hosted by Ivan Atman aka @ivan.atman, "Ethereal" - Original song, Music video, Making of, photography... First she played a short excerpt live from her studio, then we went to the soundtrack from her music video for the whole work. In a brief comic note, she mentioned how the glitter went 'everywhere' and she was spitting it out for quite a time after the making of the video. She's looking to add this to her next, third album, which she's working towards these days.

Sir Lunch the Host aka @sirlunchthehost x @jamesgetsit Hip Hop Collab with Just HODL ( Dirty Mix Version ) described the development of this collaboration Just HODL ( Dirty Mix Version ) 'HODL' often translated as 'Hold On (for) Dear Life' is a way of expressing a buy-and-hold strategy for cryptocurrency. SirLunchTheHost mentions using mainly Ableton as the production tool he's using, and encouraging us to reach out to whales to start projects related to music, art, or cryptocurrency on the blockchain. He's made a over twelve beat 'tapes' he's encouraging everyone sample for free. His next thing is an Equinox Festival in September where he'll perform live on stage.

Soundwavesphoton ( @soundwavesphoton ) with "Vibrancyì - New Song with Rare Vocals, latest tune being, "Vibrancyì something of great sound quality, the vocals recorded on a phone, and produced using the Digital Audio Workstation, 'DAW', Reason. Finally we talked quite a bit about the Trip Hop, NuJazz, and Lo-Fi movements and how so many Spotlight On The Artist guests have inclintions towards these genres and how that creates a furtile ground for collaborations.

Ravenking aka @ravenking13 with the tune, "ASKING THE WRONG QUESTIONSì . Unfortunately Ravenking's mic wasn't working so we couldn't interview he extensively. One thing to note was the sample of Alan Watts' voice, over slow rock blues reminiscent of The Door's, thus the tune itself achieving a sense of Los Angeles in the mid -to- late 1960's, uncanny considering Ravenking is from a different time and the other side of the world.
