Been new here, but don't remember Facebook calling its users Minnows, Whales and Plankton. If nothing else, that on its own and the opportunity to get paid for posting makes Steemit innovative.

Yes, steemit is quite different from facebook (much better community) and the reward system certainly makes it much more competitive than other social media. With all the privacy breach scandle on facebook I think more people will move towards steemit :) (all fins crossed).
