MSI makes custom BIOS updates to optimize for mining.

MSI (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro-Star_International) one of the biggest Gaming motherboard manufactures has started to release special custom BIOS updates for its high-end gaming motherboard.

MSI says that cryptocurrency miners have a hard time choosing a motherboard.

"With the rise of Bitcoin/Ethereum mining, AMD graphics cards once again became one of the top-selling graphics card series in the market. However, it is relatively harder to acquire the economic mining motherboard due to the fact that Intel slowly discontinued the H81 and B85 chipset, and this caused the shortage of mining motherboards in the market," MSI explains.
A lot of motherboard can see up to 6 cards but they aren’t found by Windows, so that leads to that Device Manager in Windows sees them as non “properly working”.

This has led MSI to test what of their motherboard lines where best to use for mining, and created a special custom BIOS update for them that you can get for free.
