Blended (movie) - a surprisingly good romantic comedy

So i finally got Netflix! Me and my wife was never the sort of person to stay on our couch and binge watch a tv show for half a day, thus we never felt necessary to subscribe to Netflix. We prefer to go on a date night out and go to the cinema every now and then.

Though after a short discussion with her we finally decided to get Netflix mainly because winter is coming and we have a new living room so we wanted to spend some time together there.

If you like Adam Sandler in 50 First Dates, you would love this movie. Blended reunites Sandler and Drew Barrymore which i personally think have great chemistry. Blended is great to watch when you just want a light hearted funny movie without any suspense.

The story starts with Jim (Adam Sandler) a widower of 3 daughter and Lauren (Drew Barrymore) a divorced mom with 2 son, on a blind date which gone horribly wrong. Through some 'coincidental' circumstances they found themselves having a vacation together at an African resort.

As with most of romantic comedies, we know how the story would likely end. Although the plot itself is predictable, the journey itself was quite enjoyable. The joke was quite funny without going over the top.

One of the thing that touches home for me was how much Lauren and Jim would go to great lengths and effort to make their children happy. Especially Lauren who reminds me so much of how my mother used to live and raised me and my two brothers.

I can say that i enjoyed watching this. It's a feel good movie and i can recommend it to anyone who just wanted to have a relaxing evening and a few laughters.
