Is Blade Runner our future?
Is much of Blade Runner already happening in real life today?
Much of the original Blade Runner movie technologies have come to pass to some degree, Atari is making a come back, computers are in cars, voice command computers and video phones are in most people’s pockets, massive electronic billboards are commonplace.
But it is the ethical consequences of modern day genetic designers that are most troublesome. There are influential people and groups actively working on “replicant” humans in labs with DNA manipulation, cloning, genetic engineering, and human embryo modifications.

Some are going so far as to mix human and animal DNA. The goals appear to be perfected humans, while some skeptics wonder about the creation of a slave class of clones, or super human overlords.
Then there is the other side of human alterations with robotics, alternate body parts, and artificial intelligence, while Elon Musk wants to create a brain computer interface implant device called Neuralink.
One term for all this is Transhumanism.
There are also those that claim secret programs like CIA MK Ultra have conducted experiments on people to create false memories or programming people with trigger words to help create super soldiers.
Finally, some would claim all this is leading towards climatic events in our near future. A world government with “mark of the beast” technology that changes the DNA. Others say it is part of a deception by fallen angelic inter-dimensional alien beings, similar to Genesis 6 in the Bible.

Whatever happens in the future…

pretty safe to say that if it can be thought of, someone will do it regardless of the consequences. Ethics & morality are not part of some peoples vocabulary.
