Poetic Film Review: No Man's Land (Ničija zemlja, 2001)
In the fog of war, a tale is told
Of no man's land, where hearts grow cold
Bosnia-Herzegovina, torn apart
By conflict and hatred, a broken heart
Čiki and Nino, enemies in sight
Bound by circumstance, in the dark of night
A mine between them, a deadly game
As they call for help, in their shame
Sergeant Marchand, a man of peace
Caught in the middle, his duty to cease
The media circus, the world's eyes on them
As they navigate the chaos, condemned
The message clear, in Tanović's lens
The futility of war, the loss of friends
A dark ending, a bitter truth
That peace is fleeting, in the midst of youth
A film of power, of depth and pain
No Man's Land, a story to sustain
Through laughter and tears, through joy and strife
A reminder of the cost of life.
