Gretel & Hansel - "Is it safe to trust someone who appears exactly when you need them?"
This was a new interesting take in this well-known story. The classic Hansel & Gretel tale is about 2 kids who are abandoned in the woods and are found by an evil witch who loves to eat children. She lures them in with her delicious food and then she plans to trap them and cook them.
That is already sinister enough, but this movie takes the basic story and provides a proper horror setting that was quite fun to watch. The beginning of the story is very similar to the classic one, with some little changes that aren't really that relevant.
In this place, there are supernatural threats that could harm the kids. They wander around until one of them founds the witch's houses, who as expected, appears as a gentle old lady. However, as you can see in the image below, this weird looking house in the middle of the woods is very offputting. Its design doesn't look like it belongs in this place.
One of the things I like the most in this movie was the way it looked. Everything had a very eerie feeling and the scenography was top notch. It is one of the most good looking horror movies I have seen in recent times and it does help in enjoying the film. Especially because the writing was very simple.
The performances were good, the main character was Gretel played by Sophia Lillis, she has already acted on other series like the one from HBO called "Sharp Objects" and "I Am Not Okay with This" from Netflix, as well as the "IT" movies of course. She gives decent performances so it is good to see her again in the lead role.
If you are looking for a good fine horror movie with a decent level of suspense/creepiness you will probably enjoy this one. It is not hardcore horror, it is rather a story full of suspense but not really scary.
The best
- Gorgeous looking movie. I wish every horror movie looked that good.
- Excellent use of colors and contrasts.
The worst
- Very simple story, it only had a darker touch than the classical and a small twist.

The answer to your title question:
The universe works on synchronicity.
So, if you allow it, the universe brings you the correct people / things at the correct time.
Now, the important question is what are you attracting?
Are you in a good space and attracting good things?
Well, the question is actually a quote from the movie. But I do believe it is somehow possible to attract good things/people to one's life.
