The answer to your title question:
The universe works on synchronicity.
So, if you allow it, the universe brings you the correct people / things at the correct time.
Now, the important question is what are you attracting?
Are you in a good space and attracting good things?
Well, the question is actually a quote from the movie. But I do believe it is somehow possible to attract good things/people to one's life.
