9 Series I'm looking forward to watching in 2018

in #movies6 years ago

Whats up SteemFam and all the series binge watchers out there.

I thought it would be cool to put up my list of series I'm just can't wait to see this year. If you love diving into series some of these are probably already firm favourites of yours.

if you're not familiar with the series mentioned (apart from Krypton and Cloak & Dagger which are brand new entries) then I suggest you break out the laptop and start binge-watching the previous seasons so you're all caught up by the time the new season comes around.

1. Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Season 5 - (FOX) - Comedy - Starts 18 March

Jake Peralta, an immature but talented NYPD detective in Brooklyn's 99th Precinct, comes into immediate conflict with his new commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Ray Holt. The series moves to a new night for the second half of its season.

2. Last Man on Earth - Season 4 (FOX) - Comedy - Starts 18 March

Almost two years after a virus wiped out most of the human race, Phil Miller only wishes for some company, but soon gets more than he bargained for when that company shows up in the form of other survivors. Phil and the gang now in Mexico still on the lookout for Jasper and while new member Karl has joined the search

The series returns for the second half of its season.

3. Krypton - Season 1- (Syfy) - Drama/Sci-fi - Starts 21 March

This Superman prequel series from David S. Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) is (mostly) set decades before the destruction of Superman's titular home planet. So long before, in fact, that the protagonist is the Man of Steel's grandfather, Seg-El, played by British newcomer Cameron Cuffe.

In fact, it's virtually an all-British cast (thanks in part to being filmed in Northern Ireland), with Georgina Campbell co-starring as Lyta Zod and Ian McElhinney playing Val-El, Superman's great great grandfather. Though a portion of Krypton will take place in the present (thanks to a bit of time travel), the show won't cross over with other DC series from the Arrowverse.

4. Billions - Season 3 (Showtime)- Drama - Starts 25 March

Bobby Axlerod and Chuck Rhoades continue to try to destroy the other even as they face a new enemy.

5. Silicon Valley- Season 5 (HBO) - Comedy - Starts 25 March

The Mike Judge comedy returns for its fifth season.

6. Legion - Season 2 - (FX) Drama/Sci-fi - 03 April

The second season of the drama based on the X-Men comics character sees David meeting Farouk (Said Taghmaoui) face-to-face. The X-Men-related FX series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley picks up the action a year later for this slightly longer (at 10 episodes) second season. Joining the Dan Stevens-led returning cast is Homeland's Navid Negahban (who takes over as Farouk from Aubrey Plaza, though she also returns).

7. Westworld - Season 2 - (HBO)- Drama/Sci-fi - Starts 22 April

Returning for its second season over 16 months since it last aired, HBO's newest hit will introduce a new park—the samurai-themed Shogun World—with four more to come in the future. New cast members Hiroyuki Sanada, Peter Mullan, Katja Herbers, Gustaf Skarsgard, and Fares Fares will join returning stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, and Jeffrey Wright.

The second season of the sci-fi western series inspired by the 1973 Michael Crichton film of the same name introduces Delos Corporation founder James Delos (Peter Mullan).

8. Marvel's Cloak & Dagger - Season 1 - (Freeform)- Drama/Sci-fi - 7 June

In New Orleans, despite coming from different backgrounds, Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) meet and discover their superpowers are linked together. Their lives are complicated even more as their feelings grow for each other in this coming-of-age drama based on the comic book series

9. Marvel's Luke Cage - Season 2 (Netflix)- Drama/Sci-fi - 22 June

After recent events, Luke finds everyone knows of his abilities and a new enemy soon arrives

Have your say

What do you think of my list? Which series are you most excited about seeing? Are there any series that you feel should deserve a mention for 2018? Let me know in the comments section below

I can't wait for WestWorld season 2. I hope Anthony Hopkins is back somehow. Maby as a machine or a reveal that the Hopkins that died wasn't the real Hopkins.

That's what i'm thinking, that the character we saw was either a host of some kind and its linked to a central computer that runs multiple hosts and he has been dead for ages but his consciousness preserved in a mainframe or his been controlling hosts from somewhere safe and his alive and well

Well... I have no show am dying to watch this year. This is what happens when we're too busy. Lol.

Lol well everyone needs to switch off and relax sometimes, a good series is a nice way to switch off and just reboot. Maybe you should pick one from the list and try it out :)

Mmmm... am thinking of Jessica Jones S2 but I can't seem to bring myself to watch it. Haha.

I don't want to talk you out of watching it but it wasn't as good as the first season id rather you watch it and then put up a review post so i can discuss it with you :)

Haha I haven't watched the 1st season yet so ok. :D

Lol you weren't kidding when you said you were a busy bee

Haha yeah. See I just made a new art entry for a contest. :D And then I will be blogging later so where is the time to watch? hahaha. I'll find time later or one of these days.

Lol well, it's nice to see you're being constructive with your time! I normally watch series while i lift weights or while im blogging i set my second screen to play a show. 2 birds with one stone, im not one to sit idle and watch something unless im in the cinema
