BLACK ~ Korean TV Series (Movie Review)
Black is South Korean supernatural thriller, romance and a mix of comedy series that was released in 2017 with a number of 18 episodes. Directed by Kim Hong-Sun and written by Cho Ran, it starred one of my favourite "oppa" Song Seung-Heon, (a kdrama lover would understand). It also starred other amazing actors like, Go Ara, Kim Dong-Jun, Lee Ei amongst others.
Synopsis
Black is revolves around a grim reaper who falls in love with a mortal woman during a mission on earth going against the rules of heaven , followed by various twist faced in his human body.
444 is a grim reaper who took over the body of a detective named Han Moo-gang, who died while investigating the mystery behind his brother's death. While Kang Ha-ram is a young woman who forsee the death of a person and can actually know how such person would die by merely touching the dark shadow looming over that person, the dark shadow signifies a grim reaper waiting to collect the soul of the person he is around. Unfortunately, due to this abilities she could not have a normal life, her growing up did not go so well. Even when she tried to save those she saw the shadows looming over, it just brings up bigger problems which however led her to putting on dark glasses to keep her from seeing the dark Shadows, which is death.
The series is an amazing one from the start. I mean how hard can it be for a grim reaper to be sent down to bring back his colleague who started enjoying the freedom of taking over a human body. The grim reaper in question is not just like any other grim reaper but the legendary 444, known for his cold hearted attitude, good at what he does and has no time for nonsense. Well so I thought, untill he possessed the body of Han Moo-gang, a detective who was killed during an investigation. The series revealed many plot twist which connected the legendary grim reaper to the mortal world. Unveiling various conspiracies and secret which was supposed to be kept buried. In addition to the unveiling of many secrets which seemed surreal to 444 (in human form of Han Moo-gang), he just could not help but fall in love with a mortal woman Kang Ha-ram. A woman whom he was compelled to protect due to unknown connections they had some decades ago.
Black like any other kdramas carried along its own unique charm. Engages the audience, keeping you at the edge of your seat while you scream OPPA!! hahaha, they are known for their cute actors whose performance are always so amazing. Credit to both the writer and director who did a great job in making a thrilling series. The choice of cast was good and their role performance was great. The performance of Song seung-heon was fun to see especially his character development. He was able to play different emotions as required by the scenes, from being a cold hearted grim reaper, to silly co-worker and lastly to someone who is in love. As for Kang Ha-ram her performance was good too but I feel she dragged her role a bit which made some of her scenes a bit boring. But aside that, the both leads had a very funny and nice chemistry.
You want to see a cute and funny grim reaper, then Black is your movie...hahaha. Well that is on a lighter note
A series full of twist, seeing how puzzles come together leaves you speechless because you would not see it coming till it hits you. Although, not such a great ending since I expected a very satisfying ending but nonetheless it was worth the watch. Looking to see a series, you can put this up on your watch list plus it is well subtitled.

Thank you so much for putting up my post on @pypt, I do appreciate it and thanks for dropping by. 😄
You are most welcome
Saw this on pypt. Watched the video, and now I'm on utube looking for more. I like the idea and don't mind it in Korean.
Hahaha thanks so much, am glad you loved it.
Looks like a very interesting and unique TV series.
I often watch non-American TV shows and movies on Amazon or Netflix. I only have internet and do not use cable TV. It is much cheaper for me, believe it or not.
I am glad that @xcountytravelers shared this post with us on the #PYPT Podcast.
Have a great upcoming week!
Hahaha, it's okay. I'd love to know what kind of series you watch on discord. Thanks for dropping by and a blissful week ahead. 😄
