Her Legend Begins

I have been huge Tomb Raider fan since the first game, many many moods ago, back when Lara still had a bit of a block head and very big blocky chest.

This is probably due to growing up with Indian Jones, and Lara Croft is literally the female version of Indie. The new Tomb Raider reboot hit the cinemas this weekend, so some of you might already have gone to see it, so please no spoilers in the comments. What I can tell from the trailer, part from being a complete reboot, this movie seems to be following the 2013 video game story line. Which I really like as the game story was amazing, it was a origin story of how Lara Croft becomes the infamous tomb raider we have all come to love.

I have a tiny little gripe with this, as it's almost scene for scene from the game, which in my opinion is a tab bit lazy. This also means I will then just be watching exactly what I have seen before. I'm going to hold thumb that this will not be a complete disappointment. I noticed that most of the movie was apparently shot in Cape Town, which is a good thing.

"Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father's global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he's truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can't understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death. Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad's last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn't..." - Warner Bros. Pictures

"A famous explorer once said, that the extraordinary is in what we do, not who we are. I’d finally set out to make my mark; to find adventure. But instead adventure found me. In our darkest moments, when life flashes before us, we find something; Something that keeps us going. Something that pushes us." - Lara Croft

I'm giving this trailer a hopeful 7/10 rating, although I like that it's based off the game, it lacks a little creativity.

I thought that was a bit bizarre that it's almost scene for scene what we saw in the game but it's still much better than the Angela Jolie version. They actually have a new Tomb Raider game in the works, should be the best one yet.

I had no idea they were doing a reboot of this. I used to play the games all the time when I was younger. It always amazed me how they were able to cast Angelina Jolie in the movie and she looked so much like the character. I liked the first mi idea but occasionally thought they were a little cheesy in spots. It will be interesting to see what they do with this one. One thing I always find hard with reboots is the changing of the actor. You already have this vision of what the character should look like and it takes a good performance to take over that character. For some reason Christopher Reeves will ALWAYS be Superman!!

I and a couple of friends use to play the original game every day. It was a pretty awesome game. I am not sure if the movies do the game justice though. But they weren't bad. This movie looks to be a much better rendition of the game. Lots of things in the trailer that would bring me back to the days of "Tomb Raider" the video game. Thaks for sharing @morkrock. @adsactly

I still can't get used someone who is not Angelina Jolie Being lara croft. I never played the game but the first movie was awesome

She is hot enough but just not busty enough to be Laura Croft.

I completely agree with you

Wow a Tomb Raider reboot? I must have been hiding in a rock, no pun intended @morkrock. I will have to go see this one. Loved Angelina Jolie in it though but considering innovations in cinematography these past years, I expect ghost one to top the previous one.

I am definitely going to see it. Thanks man for the heads-up

sir @morkrock thanks for sharig this trailer..... following you now for more this

Still personally disappointed that Camilla Luddington is not playing Lara in the movie.

I think this was a cool video game movie. It's so loyal to the source material that it's crazy! It was a fun watch. I saw it on Sunday.
