Mountain Monday: Cobequid Pass
#mountainmonday is a tag hosted by @keithboone. Let’s show him some love for all he does with fantastic photos, blogs and intriguing rants.
My mountains are more of huge hills than mountains. I’m chuckling to myself as the old adage, ‘Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill’ came into my head....and not the result of a hungover from celebrating New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Eve was a quiet evening at home mainly because the frig decided to pick the holidays to break down. At one time I would have been at a party or dance on New Year’s Eve but not so much anymore. Wow! My age is showing. :)
After spending December 31th having dinner with some of Hubster’s cousins, we picked up the new frig and spent last night cleaning out the old one. Hubs had to reverse the doors of the new frig and that wasn’t as easy as they said at the store.
Where were the Sears stores when they were needed?... CLOSED for good. @robertandrew mentioned about them closing down in an earlier post. The same thing has happened here. I previously bought all the household appliances at the Sears Montague Store. It was a small store and great service as the manager would bring the appliance to the house, set it up and take the old one away for a minimal fee.
Not so with the new frig. We have to get rid of it ourself.
Am I making a mountain out of a molehill? Probably as all will somehow get resolved.
Back to Mountain Monday...

This is a view on the Nova Scotia highway, near the Cobequid Pass, when coming home after Christmas.
One never knows what to expect for weather when going through the Pass ... it could be snowing and blowing while the rest of the highway is clear. There was only a bit of snow on the sides of the highway on the Pass today.
The area near the Cobequid Pass is quite a high elevation and my ears snapped on some of the highlands. Cobequid is a name derived from an old Mi’kmag one meaning,‘the bay runs far up.’

In closing, I wish everyone a healthy and blessed New Year.

Much appreciated @esteemapp. 🤗
Beautiful looking area you live in and travel
through! That is a pity about sears, use to really
like going in their little store here. Best appliances
forsure. Won't be long the others will be selling
boulders to beat our clothing and dishes on lol
Thanks Shasta. I never would have thought Sears would fold as it seemed busy enough. Have a blessed year my friend. 😇. Why do I see a child coming into your life?
Thanks so much for posting in
#MolehillMonday...oops, I mean #MountainMonday! (Couldn't resist!) If your ears pop, that qualifies as a mountain in my opinion! U+R :) Happy New Year, my friend!Haha, Keith maybe that could be another challenge. 😂 Only trouble here it’s anthills. 🐜
Our Sears are gone too. Once the owners of Kmart took them over, they seemed to go downhill fast.
Happy New Year!
Thanks and Happy New Year!
I also bought jeans from the Sears store here. Good thing I have a few pairs as I will have to track down where to find them elsewhere.

STOPHowdy there redheadpei! Hey I don't think I've ever been to a New Year's Eve party, like ever! lol. That's what a dinosaur I am. Never liked the thought of parties. Hey what's a "an old Mi’kmag?"
You crack me up Cowboy. 😂 I didn’t mean the Mi'kmag was old ..just the word. Mi’kmag are Native North Americans whose language belongs to the Algonquian branch. The Mi’kmag and the Maliseet people can be found throughout the Maritime provinces here in Canada.
Howdy again redheadpei! Ok, I thought it might have something to do with indigenous people but the name wasn't familiar at all. Should have known it was some strange Canadian tribe. Probably a bunch of cannibals or something. lol.
Haha Cowboy..not cannibals but might scalp ya in those times.
