5 reasons why bikes are better than cars

As both a car driver and a motorcyclist here are my 5 reasons why bikes are better than cars.

1.Riding joy, on a hot summer day, there’s nothing better than cruising down the street with your mates while listening to that rumbling in between your legs. Bikes are probably the most enjoyable mode of transportation that you can get. A bike exposes you to the elements, making you more aware of everything, you feel the speed, the road and the wind.

2.Cheap to run, for most bikes maintenance, insurance and road tax are close to none (this depends on the country you live in and the engine capacity of your motorcycle) Bikes are also great on gas as they typically get between 40-80mpg.

3.Parking, with a bike you’re no longer stuck for parking as you would be with a car. In most places you can just leave your bike anywhere (obviously where safe to do so) With a car you’re often hunting for the last spot in a car park or rooting though your back pocket in the hope of finding the right change so that you can get a parking ticket.

4.Lane splitting, what’s more fun than weaving through traffic and getting to your destination faster (I think this one explains itself)

5.Easy to work on, Bikes are like a dream to work on at least that’s the case for most motorcycles, just take off the fairings, remove the seat and off you go. There’s plenty of cost effective ways to improve your riding experience and a lot of mods can be done at home easily.
