Motives: What Drives A Person? (Sharing Thoughts)

in #motives5 years ago

Often enough I say

Sleep on it

Yet, do I practice that all the time! Especially when all hot headed and let's even say emotionally involved.

Well, you see there it is.

"EMOTIONALLY"

That grand word that puts facts in second place to feelings.

We've seen it all around us, it seems to be "the in thing" for just about everything out there and when it hits home, on something that is dear to us (as individuals) we too fall into that trap of ignoring facts. Even worse, twisting facts to suit our emotional needs.

So to, do I see many of us falling into that trap with Steem.

Yet.

After sleeping on it, it has become crystal clear that we have two driving factors among Steemians.

1 ) What some of us refer to as "The Dream called Steem"

&

2 ) What is known as GREED. (More money)

Some may have both at heart, absolutely possible. In fact they are somewhat interlinked when it comes to Steem.

Which brings us to priorities.

How do any of us know what is priority #1 or #2 in the minds of those who have proven via their actions that they will not stop at anything to achieve their financial goals?

WE CAN'T. WE ARE NOT MIND READERS.

Now we can go into "morals" and look into that.
However, that is a rabbit hole. One that is interlinked with so many other things out there that would take up entire shelves of written texts if I even tried to get into it.

So, best left to the individual and their own personal inner being to dwell on that one.

We are after all all unique. What we say way too often in all sorts of situations "individuals".

I see that no matter how much any of us try to be loyal to the 1st of the two first items listed in this post, that the second somehow always becomes the voice of the majority.

So it literally reminds me of what I often describe as:

Go wave a $100 note in the air downtown/CBD in any metropolis out there!

What I am saying is that as the original "Motto" or "Slogan" shown on steemit.com stated:

MONEY TALKS

So, when we look at reality, without the "feelings", the "emotions", we can clearly see that from day one "the money" was definitely the key motivational factor for way too many people involved.

When I say "money", what I am referring to is:

"a quick buck"!

These are all now logical conclusions, based on the historical factual events and I have sincerely tried to express it with as little possible "emotions" or "feelings".

I am sure that many out there may come to some conclusions based on their "feelings/emotions", but the cold hard reality of the facts that we see in the past during our path down the road of what we refer to as Steem pretty much confirms what I wrote above.

Yesterday we listened to all sorts of people talk about things, it became clear to many of us listening that there were mixed "views".

We heard a bunch of sales pitches, justifications for all sorts of things.

Which brings us back to "the motives". What is it that drives those excited voices, what is it that stands behind the smirks and smiles on the faces of some. (the ones that were within their inner being and maybe even physically on their faces).

Unfortunately we are not "mind readers".

But actions do speak louder than words.

We only need to look back and try to eliminate the 'feelings and emotions' to see what the most likely answer is.

Guess goldfish do have a good memory compared to many other creatures on this planet.

That is my one and only conclusion.

Cheers.

Heard you speak last night and completely understand where you are coming from. For now I will remain cautiously optimistic.
