You need to love and be loved!
Is there a greater thing in life than the privilege of loving and being loved? Is there a greater joy? Nothing matters more! Nothing brings greater joy!
I know that you may be facing some very real challenges. That you may feel quite overwhelmed by adversity. Whatever you are facing right now, can be considered your current set of challenges. Tomorrow it may be a different set. Every day delivers to us a challenge or two.
Some may be things like figuring out how Steemit works and which practices will lead to the greatest success. Its complicated. It is confusing. It has potential. But you will be OK whether it works for you or not.
Other challenges may bring you to a place where your life will never be the same again. A divorce. A diagnosis. Moving house to an unfamiliar place. It is difficult. It is life-altering.
Don't get side-tracked from what really matters. Don't get distracted by anything, big or small, from your greatest joy. You need to love and be loved.
Where you do this, with how much money you do this and in the midst of how much trouble you do this, is not the thing that determines your life.
You need to love and be loved! Keep your eye on that!
Do whatever it takes to get that right. The rest will flow from that.
- Don't leave your house tomorrow without hugging everyone living there!
- Don't let this weekend go by without telling every person you love, that you love them.
- Sit down and ponder your love for those close to you. And think of a fresh and unexpected way to show your love for those individuals. And do each of those things within seven days.
You need to do this!
Timing is everything. I just drove home a guy I play hockey with because his car wouldn't start. I've "known him" for 8-10 years, but didn't really know him. We played against each other and even on the same team for 1 season, but never really talked.
Tonight he told me about his 2 little girls and how they have a chromosome abnormality that will leave them retarded for life. They have 3 of a chromosome and only 1 of another, all should be pairs.
Anyways he talked about some of the difficulties they deal with as I drove him to the motel he is living in. They lost their house paying for medical treatments for the kids and for 2 years now have been living out of a motel (8 in total).
The kids live with their grandparents and each day they go see them and just at bed time they leave to sleep at the motel. It was a hard story to hear as I have 2 girls and I can't imagine being separated from them. But at the same time understand how quickly medical expenses can add up crippling someone.
I haven't figured out how, but I will come up with something that will help this family get back under the same roof.
Anyways I was out late with trying to figure out if his car would start, then running into a police roadblock (DUI check), and driving an extra 20 minutes each way to drop him off. When I got home my Wife was sound asleep, but I had to wake her up and give her a kiss. I went upstairs and looked in on the kids and smiled...I am so blessed to have 2 healthy, smart, independent, talented, and beautiful girls. I'd love them all the same if they had mental and health issues, but I'm so glad that they are healthy.
Sing like nobody is listening, Dance like nobody is watching, and most important love like there is no Tomorrow!
