The Value of things differ for different people
If we give a 100 Rupee note to a toddler, the toddler will have no clue about its value, for the baby it is just a piece of paper and probably will tear it up also. This is not a conscious behavior from them, they do not have an understanding at that age of life and hence for them it has no meaning. As we grow up, we start understanding the value of money and then we will not treat it the same way. For everything in life we only value it when we understand how useful or not useful it is for us. Then there are some people, who when they grow up also will not value money because they have so much in excess that they do not realize how important it is in someone's life. Likewise, anything which has scarcity in life and if it is important for life will hold much more value than other things in life.
The value of money does not change in any case, a 100 Rupee note will have the same value for everyone, it is just the way we each individual perceive it and what it means for us. Other example is about how we value time, some people can so easily let it pass without not doing anything whereas for some people time is extremely precious and they make sure every second of their life is spend wisely.
What values most for us we give importance to that in our life, and not necessary it may mean the same for others. Hence sometimes we see this disconnect between people because the way they value things in life are different. Our connection with God is also the most valuable one, though not everyone absorbs this thoroughly and hence there are so many crimes in the world today, because the value for connection with God is missing in their life. That does not mean for such people God does not exists.
As conscious souls it is important that we appreciate all that we have in our lives and we value them so that they always remain in our lives then be it material things or our own morals, ethics and values of life. Because these values help us to grow on the path of life. We evolve to become better people in our life and we start living a mindful life which we will be more compassionate towards other people and our surroundings.
