One Major Reason Why You Have To Plan Properly, Is Because Time is Precious and it Will Be Wasted if not Utilized Properly. Your Money is Also Really Important, So You Have To Invest Wisely.
Before I begin this post, I will sincerely want to appreciate those who take out their time to read through my post, I must say your comments really go a long way to keeping me active here and I sincerely apologize for not being able to reply, please pardon me, I just have so much on my hands.
Time is something that does not have a moment of rest, it keeps moving, it keeps ticking and even if you spend the whole day trying to make it pause for a moment, at the end of the day, you will realize that all you have done is that you have wasted your effort unnecessarily. This should make us know that whatsoever we want to put our time into, should be something rewarding and profitable.
The Motivation Behind The Post.
My very close friend had told me that she was going to start a business and she is someone who gets very passionate about whatsoever she wants to do, so I never disagreed with her when she made her intention known to me.
She started moving from one place to another to make necessary inquiries about the business, she had plans for the business because she had a lot in mind about it and then her plan was all good.
If there was something new she needed to know about the business, she will leave every other thing she is doing behind and get on her way to find out about it. I watched her move from pillar to post trying to establish her business and make everything about the business work out well.
She spoke with the agent that will help her get a place to lease and they had finalized everything today, the only thing she needed to get the whole thing settled was funds, she needed enough money to start the business and that was quite delaying, she had to source for funds from family and friends.
The Amazing Reality.
When she came to me today to tell me about how she has everything perfectly planned out, I got really interested and since she is very dear to my heart, I was willing to support her in every way, but the amount she had in mind was rather outrageous for a business like that.
So I asked if she had calculated the profit margin and she said she had not really paid so much attention to it but she just wanted to start something and she believes that it will be really profitable at the long run.
And, when we sat down to calculate the amount she will be getting from the business, we found out that if she should invest 100,000 Naira in Nigerian currency into the business, her profit will be 1,000 and I thought I was making a mistake so I calculated it again just to be sure that I was seeing correctly and this money she will invest will be different from the money she will spend on the building and other materials she will need to begin the business properly.
My Honest Advice to My Friend.
I looked at her face and she looked even more confused as she told me about all the stress she will have to go through to make the sales of 100,000 Naira and get a profit of 1,000Naira in return.
There are so many things you could with 100,000 Naira without stress and even make a profit that is encouraging, I said to her. She left where she was sitting and she ran to hug me as she said thank you so much.
Are You Making The Same Mistake?
The issue is that so many people make the same mistake these days, the only time when they realize that they have invested in the wrong business is when the reward they are getting is too little, then they realize that they have wasted money and time ,and by that time they have gone a long way already.
My advice is that before you put your money into any business whatsoever, get everything calculated. Calm down with your emotions, think about it properly again, re-calculate it and be sure about what you want to get from it.
Some of us are too carried away with the so-called title "business owners" that we just put our hard earned money into things that will not make so much profit for us at the end of the day.
So my dear friend, think and have a proper re-think before you put your money into that business, think about your long and short-term goals and be sure about what you have to gain.

Alot of people even myself have learnt from such mistakes as this. It is better to do ones calculations very well before making the jump. Investments does not just take your money into it, it goes with everything including ones emotions and life maybe. Anything that happens to such investment in the event of crashing, it feels like every other part of one's life crashes. Wise words here and a great post my friend.
I couldn't agree with you more bruv! Time is truly precious and so many things are really not worth wasting precious time on. Yes, everyone wants to be called CEO but its better & wiser to evaluate the pros and cons of a business before diving into it just as you highlighted with your friend's story. There are however certain seemingly inconsequential things one would spend lots of time on that eventually become a pretty profitable
long term investment.

Definitely agree with you here on so many levels! I've already been a victim of going with the flow and not pausing to think about the consequences. Boy, was it a wreck.
Everyone has to realize that planning is crucial. We shouldn't just dive head-on towards something just because we want to. Reason still has to be there to guide our emotions. It all sounds very simple, but is actually very hard in practice.
