This quote is very true particularly about many here on Steemit. Permit me to use Steemit as a thought point for my PoV for this article.
We are truly amazing when we are on the path of self understanding, and that spirit makes it possible for us to do more than we ever thought possible. But when we are in the midst of knowledge and still find it hard to grasp at the strings that helps us weave our way through the various impediments that puts paid to achieving our full potential, it becomes impossible for us to connect.
What you don't connect with will not profit you!
I have seen, (based on my interactions with some users and on their articles) that:
Many know everything there is to know about Steemit, in fact, they know more than they should and that makes me wonder if they created the platform. Yet, they don't understand a thing about it.
I believe that the way to making your time here on Steemit count is to connect with Steemit; because when two people come together to communicate, each of them has a reason to do so.
What do I mean by that?
Steemit is an entity and can equally pass as a person which means in some kind of ways, you and this "entity" will have to communicate from time to time.
To connect on common grounds with Steemit you must know:
1. Know your reason(s) for being in that communication
and
...2. Know Steemit's reason(s),
and when you find that out, you go on to find a way to connect the two.
The bottom line is finding common grounds that will make the interaction a win for both parties.
Why is Steemit here?
I am sure you know why you are here, and if you don't, you can try and find that out in the next minute. So, the question is, Do you know why Steemit is here?
This was one of the questions I asked myself when I started out in Steemit thinking I had it all figured out. Yet, I wasn't even figuring into the playbook of the system.
So I asked these questions:
- What does Steemit dream about?
- What makes Steemit happy?
- What makes Steemit sad?
Well, I answered those questions and everyday, I mine with my mind using the answers I got as a guide.
{please do not ask me about it here, it is my cheat sheet, you should get yours lol.} - I will write about that in another article soon.
Connecting with your environment and the tools of your trade is important to getting results. I am not sure why we should connect, but I am sure connection established works for both parties.
So there you have it.., did you get the Prize?

Absolutely. I have taken a bit of time off here, and then came back. Basically, I was unsure what to write about. I think that creating relationships with people here is the most important thing to do . . I was doing it a bit, but definitely could have done much better.

That is an interesting way to put it. And yes, I think I understand what you are saying. I look at it like, Steemit is a way to communicate with others. And the "others" need to want to read your blog.
I don't know if I am looking at it in the same way as you are, but this article got me to think a bit . . so that's win in my view. :)
Thank you @shawnfishbit, and I am excited that you really took time to read the article. It is okay to take a step back most times when we are unsure of the track ahead; but what is more okay, is our ability to return and damn all and walk down that path because of the understanding we possess.
And Yes, it is a Win in your view and mine as well.

I totally agreed that we need to know and enjoy being on Steemit. It is a channel for us to learn, read and share. I like to read good articles, enjoy the funny photos and jokes and know more about the cultures and problems in some countries. Communications are important to understand the views and reasons for some people and what they are sharing. Sad to say but many do not read as they do not want to waste time on the 'lower ranking' in Steemit. When I comment, not many bother to reply. So the communication stops there. How sad?

Different strokes for different folks. Keep doing what you are doing and trust me, all good work always mostly end up in profits. Thank for stopping by and I like discussing so feel free to do that anytime. Lower ranking means there is a High in the offing!
Thanks for you encouragement to continue to write (instead of re steeming) even though others do not read or reply. Hi @jackpot, I like the fact that you like discussions and communications. That makes 2 of us. I know that it feels lonely sometimes when you look at your page and see only handful of people passing by, maybe or maybe not upvoting you.
But I am glad you are not giving up and you are following @ejemai's page. I fell in love with his post about loving steemit and mining with his (you are a he @ejemai, no?) loving mind.

I believe it is very true. I always tell myself, when you are at the bottom, there is no where to go but UP.

heyy @ejemai !!! I totally agree! steemIt's reasons is to connect more people. I believe that steemit wants to become #1 social media, even bigger than facebook, and that's why pays us as the users, in order to attract easier the attention of other users!

This is true. School teach knowledge. Life makes you understand what all of it means.
I like School and I like that it teaches us knowledge, but what I like most about it is the area I sat in class while it thought. Knowing does not equal understanding.
