Understanding burn-out or fatigue: How to manage itsteemCreated with Sketch.

The gap between environmental limits and our talents constantly causes weariness.

I'm tired and empty. I sleep yet am never refreshed. A glass of water drowns me. Everything is too much, I'm broke. Who has never experienced this subtle distress, this psychological tiredness that creeps in without warning, which we realise but doesn't nail us?

How come these people can't take it anymore after enjoying the sun, fresh air, slowing down, planning, and organising their return to school?

The gap between environmental limits and our talents constantly causes weariness. When the imbalance is too big, we either do our hardest but fail or give up and experience depression, grieving, abandonment, and forfeit.

The issue is how we handle environmental requests, not the environment itself. If we're good students who always want to improve, the environment limits us.

If we know our limits, humanity, and life balances, we may make decisions and not respond to all requests to protect ourselves. Giving up certain things becomes easier since we are worth it and we choose ourselves.

I hear all the little voices crying “but I have no choice”. Fortunately or sadly, we always have choices, but they may be undesired. The famous Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, who lived in concentration camps during World War II, said that our ultimate choice, even our ultimate freedom, is how we handle the worst trials, such as illness or death.

The question is irrelevant. Now, burnout refers to professional psychological and physical weariness. The other exhaustions will be simple exhaustions by default.

Common symptoms include the body speaking instead of the brain, causing insomnia, anxiety attacks, phobias, and pains that can lead to paralysis.

When we suffer, we must never let our body speak instead of our head since the body will be sloppy in trying to save us and take longer to realise the threat is over. Everything can return to normal.

If you find yourself having trouble regaining energy, hypervigilant, powerless, alone, and misunderstood, act like a responsible adult. towards yourself and take action—choose yourself.

ways to act

Accept all the rest and recovery time your body and heart require.

Ideas for further steps:

Dependences on me and others? Get rid of anything you can't change.
What weighs me down most, and how do I handle it first?

What should I give up? Eliminating reoccurring sources of tiredness is crucial.

How do I finish a process? To retrain itself to replenish itself, energy must complete tasks before being disinvested and reinvested.

What would I need to watch out for if I got a nasty case of the flu and couldn't accomplish anything for a week? This question helps us determine our minimal acceptable and set conditions.

Fatigue, whether physical or emotional, is our friend; it signals that something is amiss and that we must take action to restore equilibrium. Respecting our brain and body's signals is our top priority as they adapt to optimise biological functioning.
