I really loved my Ergo carrier for older babies and toddlers on the back. Much prefer unpadded ring slings for skiskybubs (and short trips with heavier bubs and toddlers or just around the house if they’re being super clingy) but it’s mostly because I could never get the padded ones as tight as I wanted. Also ring slings might cause problems if you have existing back issues.

Also remember strollers can be useful for lugging gear 😜
