Mum Blog : 3rd Trimester Countdown

I pulled a bum muscle the other day.

Wish I was joking. Even more, wish I was doing something strenuous when it happened but I was just sitting down, got up and there it was.

It's been 3 days and it's still there.

So hells yeh the countdown is on!

It's actually crazy the amount of aches and pains I've got at the moment.

The headaches came back after the glucose test on Thursday, stayed with me til yesterday until I cut my hair and it's been good since then.

Walking is even more of a task since bub is bigger and is still on my bladder. Though this is meant to ease in the last trimester, or so my midwife tells me.

Clothes wise...
Ok so I didn't really bother purchasing maternity clothes. I did get a couple of night dresses 3 to 4 sizes bigger at the start of my pregnancy that paired with old baggy pajama pants that I've lived in for the last 6 months. But now the pants feel like they squeeze bub especially when she's hanging low. So now pants are becoming a problem. The plus side is were approaching spring... Even though we've just had 2 days of snow..

With 3 months to go I'm now knuckling down and finalising breastfeeding and baby carrier choices.

At the moment the haakaa gen 3 is my fave breastfeeding choice. Just trying to decide if I should go all in or just try it out. Plus there's the 160ml and 250ml bottles to choose from.

Carrier wise I'm tossing between a padded carrier or wraps/ring sling. Definitely want to stay away from strollers for as long as we can. I really think bub and us would benefit long term going down this route.

The next thing on my to do list is doing research on postpartum products/natural remedies.

Apparently this is awesome.

From memory, Mum made me sit on a bucket filled with guava leaves and boiled water when I gave birth years ago. I'm pretty sure it worked... 🤔

Then there's the.... What to do with the placenta question..

Lots of things to consider and think about with 3 months to go.

Ladies! Any suggestions or favourite products you can recommend? Would love to hear them all!

I really loved my Ergo carrier for older babies and toddlers on the back. Much prefer unpadded ring slings for skiskybubs (and short trips with heavier bubs and toddlers or just around the house if they’re being super clingy) but it’s mostly because I could never get the padded ones as tight as I wanted. Also ring slings might cause problems if you have existing back issues.

Also remember strollers can be useful for lugging gear 😜
