Small pleasures

The emotion that is felt at the end of the Camino de Santiago in the Plaza del Obradoiro is unmatched.

There are several small pleasures that I remember with longing. There are few situations that cause more satisfaction than:

Follow with determination a millennial road marked by the Milky Way.

Walk through history among myths and legends.

Waking up with the seagulls and walking in silence in the mist at dawn.

Feel the cool water in the tired feet submerged on the shore of the beach.

Move forward in the rain and shelter waiting for it to escape.

Taste a Godello wine and an octopus "a feira".

To finish mountains panting and to contemplate the panorama from above.

Cross bridges of moldy stone for time.

Look up and fascinate before the Romanesque porticos.

Admire altarpieces and cathedrals full of stories and fantastic stories.

Walk under the vines of vineyards or in the silence of the dark beech forests.

Chat with friends, at the same pace, arm in arm.

Cross with other pilgrims and wish them "Buen Camino".

Meditate between nature while listening to your steps, the breeze on the leaves of trees, the flow of water from a stream or the trilling of birds.

Enjoy the first fresh drink of beer, thirsty after finishing the stage.

Approaching the end listening to the sound of bagpipes ....

But, none of the above is comparable to giving a tight hug, between sobs, in front of the facade of the cathedral after successfully completing the Camino de Santiago.

The first photograph I made years ago with my Nikon Coolpix 5400. The photograph of the facade of the cathedral I took with my iPhone 6. In addition, I am the author of the drawings of dividers.
