Monomad Entry for December 19th, 2018 — "Old Brickwork"
This is our entry for December 19th for the #monomad challenge of black-and-white photography, originally started by @brumest:
I long toyed with the idea of doing an "artistic" series of photos, so I thought we'd try this as a daily challenge on behalf of the Red Dragonfly Gallery for a while. Today marks our 8th entry into this endeavor, after a break yesterday for our weekly closing day.
"Old Brickwork"
Part of the fun of living in a town that was mostly built in the 1850's to 1890's is that the buildings were constructed at a time when there was a lot of "pride in building."
Builders at the time paid a lot of attention to detail, and so we have lots of old buildings with rather beautiful masonry work.
(Wednesday topic: Abstract — I realize this is not exactly "abstract," but it's more about patterns than an actual thing)
Red Dragonfly Gallery News:
The very windy and harsh weather we have been having for the past week has subsided a bit, so we saw a few more people in the gallery today. In general, the holiday shopping "rush" has been very light this season, according to almost all the other merchants I have spoken to.
Feeling cautiously hopeful that we might have a really busy weekend.
Wishing you all a great evening, and we'll be back with more tomorrow!
Thanks for reading!
