My first entry to the monomad challenge: "construction time"

I used to take a lot of black and white photos when I first started in photography. Mainly because I took way too many photos in broad sunlight and they only seemed slightly more bearable without color. ;-)
Then I attended a course in analogue photography with Hasselblad cameras, in which we developed our own photos. As this is much easier with black and white films, I gained a new understanding of what "colorless" photography is all about:

Black and white reduces the photo to what is really going on.

To the forms, the story... It can bring great clarity. Colors can transport feeling where there is none in black and white.
By now I like both modes of photography and use them whenever I see fit.

This photo is from Scott Kelby's photowalk in Linz 2015. I still love it because of the mystery about it. The reflection in the door brings a bit of confusion with it. I love reflections!

Ich habe früher, als ich begonnen habe zu fotografieren, viel in Schwarz-Weiß abgelichtet. Hauptsächlich weil ich viel zu viele Fotos in hellem Tageslicht geschossen habe und sie ohne Farbe ein kleines bisschen besser aussahen. ;-)
Dann habe ich einen Kurs in analoger Fotografie mit Hasselblad Kameras besucht, bei dem wir unsere Fotos selbst ausgearbeitet haben. Da das mit Schwarz-Weiß-Filmen viel einfacher ist, habe ich begonnen zu verstehen, worum es in "farbloser" Fotografie eigentlich geht:

Schwarz-Weiß reduziert das Foto auf das Wesentliche.

Auf die Formen, die Geschichte... Es kann große Klarheit bringen. Farbe dagegen kann Gefühle transportieren, wo in Schwarz-Weiß gar keine sind.
Inzwischen mag ich beide Arten der Fotografie und verwende sie, wenn immer ich sie für passend befinde.

Dieses Foto ist bei Scott Kelby's Photowalk 2015 in Linz entstanden und ich liebe es immer noch wegen dem Geheimnisvollen darin. Durch die Reflektion in der Tür entsteht eine leichte Verwirrung. Ich liebe Reflektionen!
