As the waves crash in...
The inimitable Tanah Lot...
This supposed to be the must-see when anyone visits Bali... It is a small-ish temple, a shrine actually, that is perched atop a rocky outcrop out at sea.
One can walk out to it at low tide, and hordes of tourists do. Visiting the temple itself is only for Balinese Hindus though.
The fact that it sits out at sea...
That you can't walk to it at high tide
And I was most fascinated with the great waves sweeping in, and crashing over the rocks at the base of the outcrop that is the foundation of the Tanah Lot temple
The waves do wash over all the low lying rocks, so you need to be aware of the waterline, and where not to tread!
It is a fascinating place!
