Monochrome Monday Statues in Bryant Park
Monochrome Monday Statues in Bryant Park
This is a post for Monochrome Monday hosted by @old-guy-photos A challenge I try to join as often as I can, the other challenges he hosts are Sepia Saturday and Tree Tuesday, all fun challenges and worth checking out.
For this weeks post I am going with a few Statues I came across in Bryant Park on a recent walk through the park.
This first one is of Gertrude Stein, and in case you're not well versed in Poetry and well know poets, like me this is what I found out about here
Gertrude Stein was an American novelist, poet, playwright, and art collector. Born in the Allegheny West neighborhood of Pittsburgh, and raised in Oakland, California, Stein moved to Paris in 1903, and made France her home for the remainder of her life

And this last one is not a statue, but it is in Bryant park and worked well in Mono so I am including it with this post, One of the ornat lamp posts in bryant Park, which are such a cool design I think.Sony A7iii 33mm F4 1/60 Sec ISO 200

Thanks :) appreciate your visit
I think statues are great candidates for monochrome! :) So distinguished!! That lamp post is a treasure... love it!
Thanks for your visit and I d totally agree statues so often look so much better in mono when we can focus not he detail and not get distracted by the colors
That lamp is really cool. I wonder what was so much better about France than the US that the person moved there and stayed there :) Now I am going to have the YMCA song stuck in my head all day...
Sorry bout that but there are worse songs to get stuck in your head I guess LOL
Beautiful monochrome shots and i like the use of the tree different mono styles u used for this post. I so have to book a trip to New York to see all these great sites in real life (it's on my list for quite some time now).
Thanks Kindly, it is well worth visiting there is so much to see from art, shows nature architecture etc etc etc I hope you can get too visit and experience it some day
Statuary and classic architecture always looks so stunning in b/w good ones to share @tattoodjay Bryant Park makes me think of Fashion week.
Yes I do so agree I think they often call to be done in Mono where they reallly shine and highlight the details rather than ones Yemen’s being distracted but he colors
