This first shot is of The Cube also known as the Alamo and also as the Astor Ploace Cube which was designed by sculpture Bernard (Tony) Rosenthal, s you can see it is pretty much an All Black Cube standing on its edge.
It was installed in 1967 as one of a series of 25 temporary Art Installations in the city, that were intended ot only be on display for 6 months.
However the Local residents petitioned theCity to keep the Alamo and it is still there today.
I could not find anywhere the significance of the name Alamo

And I decided to take this shot of the building that hosts on NYSC ( New York Sports Club) premises which from this angle I felt kind of fitted well witht is post and it has a cube look to it and I thought was an interestign looking building

They make some pretty cool designs out of cubes.
I love the shot of building that hosts on NYSC too. With all of those precious beautiful details in it.
Hi @debralee! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @tattoodjay!

They sure do this one is eye catching tip!
Thanks!

Hmmm interesting, I like weird abstract sculptures like that.
me to and this one although simple really stands out
That first 'Alamo' shot is epic brother.
Thanks Mate
Haha, when I read temporary and saw the picture of it still there I was thinking it was temporarily permanent like many of the "patches" become at places I've worked. Good to see this wasn't the case and seems like a neat peice I'd want to keep as well.
LOL I thought the same whe I first saw it :)
I am glad it stayed its simple and yet really stands out
That was an interesting piece to read...how you keeping?
Cheers and doing fairly good thanks how about you?
Good, down in Mazatlan at the moment. Loving the warm weather...Keeping consistent with Steemit...I feel like I have been a 55 reputation forever! Haha! I also started posting my photos for the photocontests one day early instead of on the day...I think I was too late. I won initally one time and then nothing and have posted so awesome stuff...I just keep going forward!
Just have to keep steeming on
As you levels go up it takes longer and longer each one
Oh it takes longer...good to know. I thought I was not doing as good! Steem ON!!
Yes be patient cheers
BTW-Something I noticed. My iphone X takes amazing pictures, but when I upload them in ibb.co to turn the photo to an http linkthey are not as crisp and clear...do you recommend anything? Thanks!
What is Ibb.co ?
Its where I convert my pictures from a jpg to a link (http). What do you do?
That may be the issue that sure will be downsizing the image
I edit my photos and export to hog and upload the jpg to Steemit
Great installation!
I am glad they kept it, it may be simply but it really stands out
The Cube against the backdrop of the window and all that is going on in the reflections is quite intriguing. Fantastic shot, Jay!
Thanks for your visit and support it is truly appreciated
