My submission for MonochromeMonday by @old-guy-photos today.
You might not believe it but this guy is a professional photo model. He works for about a couple of hours a day to earn money for living. Back in the days his family, or let's say the men of the family, worked as cormorant fisherman in the Guilin area. So their job was fishing. It's a dying nearly 1,000-year-old tradition. They work on the river Li in Guilin. The fishing technique they are using is unique because they fish without the aid of a hook or bait.

Ihr werdet es nicht glauben aber der gute Fischer ist ein professionelles Model. Er arbeitet mehrere Stunden am Tag, um Geld zum Leben zu verdienen. In guter Tradition hat er als kleiner Junge von seinem Vater und Opa gelernt wie man fischt wie alle alle Männer in der Familie. Vor bereits 1000 Jahre wurde auf diese spezielle Art und Weise gefischt. Leider ist die Tradition am Aussterben. Besonders für die Fischer aus Guilin ist, dass sie ohne Haken und Köder fischen.

We did a shooting with the fisherman from about 6 pm to 9 pm. I was also able to fly my drone during the shooting. It was really funny because the fisherman got out his smartphone while wearing his traditional clothing and shoot some images of the drone an me:)
Von 18 bis 21 Uhr durften wir den Fischer mit seinen Kormoranen ablichten. Während des Shooting bin ich auch mit meiner Drohne geflogen. Super lustig war, dass der Fischer einmal aus seiner Tasche ein Smartphone zückte und anfing Bilder von der Drohne und mit zu machen:)
For sure it was one of the coolest days of my life. Standing in the shallow water for hours, shooting almost non-stop and being surrounded my friendly people!
Mit absoluter Sicherheit kann ich sagen, dass es einer der interessantesten Tage meines Lebens war. Für mehrere Stunden stand ich im flachen Wasser, habe unzählige, fantastische Fotos geschossen und war zudem nur von freundlichen Menschen umgeben!

It is kind of frustrating for me to find another great photographer that I will never be able to compete against :D but it feels exciting at the same time because your photos are just amazing. You earned a new follower :) It will be an honor for me to learn from your photography.
Thanks for your really nice words! I try my best to produce great content. For me it just a hobby. In my opinion it helps a lot to view lots of photos from famous photographers. Each one of them has an unique style. Just pick the best ideas, shoot shoot shoot and try to push yourself to get better.
Tomas from Czechglobalhosts picked all kind of different photos as winning images so I think everybody has a chance. And even if you get an upvote on your image, it's worth a lot in US Dollar right now.

Monochrome means "just one color". In photography I would say it means "black and white" images. I hope that helps!

Falls du mal in China sein solltest, bzw. in Guilin, würde ich dir die Guilin Photography Tour empfehlen.
Wirklich super Fotos! Nach China möchte ich auf jeden Fall mal, Guilin sieht nach einem Ort aus, den ich unbedingt mal besuchen sollte, danke für den Tipp!
The story of the model fisherman is fabulous. He's a great model, the images are wonderful.
It's great that you like the images! He was a great person to shoot with. Even though he just spoke some english words, we laughed a lot together!

Thank you so much for your comment. I just use lightroom most of the time. First BW and then some simple adjustments. No layers, partial grading or stuff like this.
