Money Money Money Its All About The Money!
Why do some of you have an issue with others making money?
I really don't understand it especially when I feel it deserved!
There has been a lot of talk about money and the amount that some sports men especially football players are making.# £100K per week 300K per week 500K per week
They don't deserve it!
They shouldn't be earning that much!
Doctors and Nurses should be earning that amount money!
These are the types of comments I read and hear everyday as the prices of wages and players are raising rapidly, and I completely disagree with anyone that suggests that the players don't deserve the money that they are getting.
How Is The Money Getting Generated In The First Place?
Football (soccer) is the most popular game in the world. The demand for live football matches to be shown all over the world is greater than ever especially since the birth of the internet.
TV companies like Sky, BT, ITV, Setanta & BeinSports are all competing to get the rights to show live football matches around the world, and as a result gain some much needed advertising revenues.
The Truth
The truth is that football is in demand, and as a result money is being offered to the top clubs from the top leagues in the world. The players deserve the money that they are getting offered as they are the main attraction and they are on the field giving us fans the entertainment that we all love and speak about.
The top clubs are recieving huge amounts of money and I would rather see the players earn a fair share, rather than a club owner take the money to invest in another one of their companies. Us fan don't show up week in and week out to watch the owners of the club, we come to support the team and the players in the team.
(when was the last time that you bought a shirt with the chairmans or owners name on the back of it ay?)

For me theres nothing better than watching good quality football.
Watching Messi dribble with the ball at his feet, taking it past one, two players and chipping it over the on rushing goalkeeper is truly breathtaking and is the reason why we watch the beautiful game, so when I hear that Messi has signed a new contract worth £500K per week I have no complaints at all.

In this case I would have to say NO its just a case of supplying the demand and long may it continue :)
What a great article. I agree that it is the demand by the viewers and fans of sport and even entertainment (e.g. Hollywood) that generates the massive amount of profits for movie studios, sports clubs, actors and athletes, etc. When I hear people complain about the outrageous salaries athletes earn, I tell them if you want to see that drop, then stop attending and watching these sports. With less demand will come lower prices and hence lower salaries. Of course, most fans won't even think of doing that as they love to watch their favorite game :)

I agree completely! Anyone should be able to earn whatever the market will bear. But obsessing over money "loving it" and making it ones sole life goal isn't healthy and makes someone miserly and greedy. that's a sure recipe for a miserable life.

Don't begrudge those sports stars etc anything they earn! Money isn't the problem it's when you love it too much, that you do anything to get it. Then morals unfortunately go out the window.
The root of all evil is actually not having enough moneyy. Thats where most problems in society arise from. But das just my opinion :)
I agree!! Earning and having a certain amount of money is ok!!
But if you getting greedy and more greedy, that leads to most dangerous way for living!! If money is the center of your life than your doomed!!
