Season 2018-2019 Week 5 Results | 21W-24L-10P | -0.420 Units Loss

This is a weekly overview of my personal handicapping and live betting results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League with some insights on my overall approach.

I placed a ton of bets this week (55 bets in only 10 matches!) which usually a sign of indecisiveness where I end up taking mostly small bets because I fail to pull the trigger on the bigger ones. Getting enough volume in is quite important (I will write about that later this week) and finding a balance between quality and quantity is key to be a solid winner in the long run.

This week produced a limited loss and I'm perfectly fine with that. The weekends have gotten much more busy when it comes down to betting with all the leagues having started again. I'm also exploring some ways to consistently beat markets outside the Belgian League which clearly has taken away some of my focus.

The corners market have been the most profitable for me these past year to an extend where I overly depended of them and they misrepresent actual results from sides and totals bets I took in the league.

This season I increased my stakes on them to the extend where it is possible because the limits on these kind of bets are usually quite small. These bets can be seen in the overall dips and spikes in the graph. There were 3 bigger corner positions I got myself into this weekend. 2 of them ended up losing and 1 ended up winning. The maximum I'm willing to have at risk of losing will always be 2 units though which represents around 1.5% of my total bankroll.

The only 'official' bet I took some extra on at Nitrogensports (AA Gent vs Lokeren Under 3 @ 1.893) Ended up as a Push in the final minutes after it looked very good at HT with a 0-0 score.

I am looking into switching to a more quality over quantity style when it comes down to sharing Live bets on the SBC Discord while continuing to also use it as a way to give the latest team line-up information before matches for those who are interested.

This weekly graph update is actually a great way to visualise variance and volume that is needed in order to beat 'shorter term luck' factor which will always be part of betting on sports.
