Season 2018-2019 Week 3 Results | 22W-13L-3P | +6.170 Units Profit
I have been a big fan of the Daily25 Betting Blog from Steve who has been sharing his personal betting results for years both during the good an bad times. I always look forward to his reports and believe Record Keeping is a key factor in success when it comes down to beating the sports betting market. This insipred me to do something similar on a weekly basis for all the personal bets I take on Belgian Teams in the League, Cup or European Matches. This really helps tremendously to stay sharp all season long. In the past I had the tendency to get sloppy when being up a lot starting to believe it was all easy which always backfired at some point.
This was one of those weeks where nearly everything clicked and a massive profit of +6.17 Units was made. One of the more important things for me is always to avoid losses first, this makes me more careful when i'm down and slightly more adventurous when I'm up a lot. This also translates in my betting approach where losing 2 units on any given match is the maximum I'm willing to have at risk at any given point. My average stake went down to 0.5 units each bet (0.58 units last week) which is why the 6+ units profit is massive putting me above the expected pink line in the graph again.
I could write a lot this week about many of the bets, but most is already written down in all the previews who were I would say pretty accurate. One of the more interesting concepts was to spit a bet between different options. I often have this dilemma when not being able to choose which is the best option. AA Gent vs Waasland where I expected AA Gent to Struggle and Waasland to score was one of those situations. (afterwards it showed unjustified with AA Gent winning deserved with a somewhat exaggerated 4-1 score) Splitting between Waasland +1.5 | AA Gent TT Under 2 & Waasland TT Over 0.5 highly reduced the risk and provided a lot of room to potentially trade out live which I did on Over 3.5 @ 2.54 in minute 82' at 2-1 score to still lock in some tiny profit. It is a good example on how thinking about reducing risk in the first place can help to do better in the long run.
Both bets I took some extra on in BTC won rather easy. (Club Brugge -2 @ 2.37 & Stvv vs lokeren 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.093) There is a huge gap between sharing previews that include many of the bets I took and angles I look for Live in-game and someone actually being able to make profit from it. Betting Sports profitably is often a game of details and it is not that straightforward to follow others and duplicating results. The official bets I post here tracking the results on are always taken at nitrogensports (or Sportsbet) at the time of taking them so they should be possible to follow for those who are kust looking for bets instead of knowlegde.
Oostende vs Genk was another match with some big late team news. I did end up trading out a tiny bit myself during the match after seeing they did not have the major dominance compared to previous matches just to reduce the risk as odds had not really changed much. Genk ended up winning the match deserved in the end even though I consider the 0-2 win somewhat lucky. It makes up for the unfortunatle loss last week I guess.
